The Day Her Majesty Came to Town

Tuesday 1st May was a big day for Salisbury. For the first time since 1974 Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip visited Salisbury and the Cathedral, arriving by train before travelling through the city to the Cathedral Close.

The Regent shop, being positioned just off the High Street, was in a prime position for a good view of the procession as it passed by. The Union Jack always flys proudly at Regent but it was good to see the city full of bunting and flags to celebrate the Queens arrival, it was also a great opportunity to dress up the window with a Royal theme that has earned many admiring comments.

To top off the day Jason, James and Will all made sure they were appropriately dressed just in case Her Majesty felt inclined to visit. You can read more about and see pictures of the visit on the BBC website.
