Salisbury Big Business Event - 23rd - 25th April

Salisbury Guildhall has this week hosted the Big Business event, organised by Salisbury City Council, Federation of Small Business, Salisbury City Centre Managament, Blue Frontier, Trethowan's and Salisbury Chamber of Commerce.

The event was founded to help, encourage and support new and existing businesses in the Salisbury area. Banks, solicitors, accountants and HR experts have all been on hand to offer advice for free. BBC South Today reported on the event on Tuesday and took the time to interview Jason Regent, talking about the difficulties and support available for a small, local business in the current economic climate. The Secret Codes of QR

As part of Salisbury Art Centre's 'What's The Story? Film Festival' in 2011, Simon Davison was commissioned to write and direct a short film based on a classic story. The result was 'The Secret Codes of QR'. Regent were approached as a location for the film and were pleased to be involved, opening up the store one evening for filming and trying their best to keep quiet and out of camera shot behind the scenes! Click on the image to view the scenes filmed at Regent.

The film starred Sarah Winter, a talented young actor, who has appeared in films including 'The Other Boleyn Girl' and international award winning 'Lovelorn' and also played Mary Martin in the BBC series 'At Home With The Georgians.'

'The Secret Codes of QR' has subsequently won the 2012 Preloader film competition. The annual contest, which is organised by a partnership of Wiltshire media organisations and is open to filmmakers from across the Wiltshire region, was hosted this year at Salisbury Arts Centre.
